“Creating Support and Awareness for SVSU Students with ADHD”
This proposal was written for the Director of Accessibility Resources at SVSU and focuses on the time management challenges faced by students with ADHD. The purpose of this project was to address gaps in existing accommodations and propose a more targeted solution through an ADHD-friendly time management workshop. The proposal draws on research about ADHD, time blindness, and student experiences to highlight the need for additional support systems. The result is a structured, low-cost workshop plan designed to help students build practical strategies, routines, and organizational skills for academic success. This project demonstrates my ability to combine research, empathy, and problem-solving to create user-centered solutions in an academic setting.
“Prevention and Creating Awareness For Type Two Diabetes”
This proposal was developed for Saginaw Public Schools and focuses on the growing issue of type two diabetes among children and adolescents. The purpose of this project was to educate students on the risks, causes, and prevention of the disease through a structured, school-based program. Targeting students from kindergarten through high school, the proposal outlines an interactive solution that includes workshops, guest speakers, and cooking demonstrations to promote healthy lifestyle habits. The result is a comprehensive, multi-phase program designed to increase awareness and reduce long-term health risks among students. This project demonstrates my ability to research public health issues, write for a broad audience, and develop large-scale, actionable solutions.
“Putting a Stop to Bullying in High Schools”
This proposal addresses the ongoing issue of bullying within high schools, with a focus on Saginaw Public Schools as the intended audience. The purpose of this project was to examine the causes and effects of bullying and propose a solution that creates a safer and more supportive school environment. The proposal recommends implementing the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program, an evidence-based initiative designed to reduce bullying through education and school-wide support systems. The result is a cost-effective, research-backed plan aimed at improving student safety, mental health, and academic performance. This project demonstrates my ability to analyze social issues, apply research to real-world problems, and develop practical, persuasive solutions.
